"Making" Series Ed. 6 - Making Music with the Ultimate Rocker and Violinist Katie Jacoby
Katie Jacoby is, quite simply, badass. A NYC-based acoustic and electric violinist, you might know her from any number of her growing list of high-profile performances and musical accomplishments. Katie began classical violin studies at the age of six and immersed herself in other genres after discovering rock and roll in junior high. She has toured, recorded, and/or performed with a diverse group of musicians including Roger Daltrey, Foreigner, Debbie Harry, Miley Cyrus, Liam Gallagher (Oasis), Jon Anderson (Yes), John Wetton (King Crimson), Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Philip Glass, Dua Lipa, Troye Sivan, Mark Ronson, Josh Groban, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Rob Thomas, Elle King, Peter Criss (KISS), and multiple winners of American Idol. After joining Roger Daltrey on his 2018 orchestral tour of Tommy, she was elated to receive an invitation to join The Who for their Moving On! tour.
Katie took a liking to our black Casentino sneaks from the Italy Collection a while back and was gracious enough to sit down with us at her home in Brooklyn to talk about her life, career path and what it’s like to be playing her dream gig with The Who. Needless to say, we’re huge fans! Have a listen.
