Every piece in the collection is produced by artisans in a fair-trade workshop, honoring the colorful and imaginative fashion traditions of Southeast Asia’s hill tribes. Sarisa, a personal fashion icon of mine, is training a new generation of Thai and hill tribe women in design and traditional embroidery. The collection draws from multiple hill tribes, especially the Hmong, whose traditional garments combine vivid colors, hand embroidery, batik dyeing, and bright fringe beadwork. Vintage Hmong skirts, with pastel pinks, yellows, and blues, inspired the Thai Flower slip-ons in pink, creating a bridge between tradition and modern design.
