Ink Dwell studio creates art that explores the beauty and complexity of nature, connecting human environments with the natural world. Merging classical techniques of science illustration with modern fine art, they enhance iconic locations with wondrous and monumental imagery. Le Mondeur teamed up with Ink Dwell to transform their magnificent art into embroidered, wearable masterpieces. The result: one-of-a-kind shoes that blur the line between art and fashion while also supporting important wildlife conservation efforts.

About the collection

The Monarch in Moda transforms art into motion. Born from a collaboration between Le Mondeur and Ink Dwell, this sneaker draws inspiration from Ink Dwell’s 2018 mural in Ogden, Utah, part of the Migrating Mural project celebrating wildlife along migration corridors. Over 50,000 hand-stitched embroidery points recreate the monarch butterfly’s iconic orange, black, and white wings, bringing Op Art-like energy to every step. This is more than a shoe—it’s wearable art that captivates and mesmerizes.

Handcrafted in Portugal with a commitment to sustainability, the Monarch in Moda is fully vegan and eco-conscious. Premium embroidered textiles, breathable microfiber lining, and durable rubber soles meet artisanal craftsmanship in a design built for comfort and style. Every pair is a testament to ethical production and meticulous attention to detail, making each sneaker a collectible piece of global craftsmanship.
